The auto-steep mechanism works through gravity and a rotating base β hot water goes in the top chamber, and when the steep is done, a turn of the base releases the tea through into the lower vessel, clean and without a filter to fuss with. No pouring by hand, no timing guesswork, no mess. The wooden side handle stays cool and gives you full control over when to release, which means you're still making the call β you're just not standing over it.
The ceramic is painted with a full peony in red and blue β the kind of brushwork that commands the whole surface without the rest of the set competing with it. The cups carry a smaller version of the same motif. Everything reads as a set, not as pieces that happen to match.
Two design variants. The blue-and-white version is more classical β ink tones, traditional palette, the kind of aesthetic that fits a study or a formal tea table. The peony version runs warmer, with more color and a slightly more contemporary feel. Both use the same auto-steep mechanism.
