The walnut-toned hardwood has a long, clear grain that photographs as warm brown and reads richer in person, with the subtle variation that only comes from natural timber rather than a manufactured sheet. The table surface is wide and flat — proportioned for a serious tea session with multiple guests, with enough length to set cups, tools, and a teapot without anything feeling crowded.
The chairs. The surrounding armchairs carry the same warm wood frame with a simple arc at the top rail — a contemporary reading of the classic Chinese horseshoe chair, stripped of ornamentation and left with the essential gesture. The seat and back are upholstered in dark leather, which holds up to daily use better than fabric and ages in a way that improves rather than degrades the appearance of the set.
The combination of clean-lined contemporary chairs against the natural grain of the log table is the visual logic of this set: modern enough for a current interior, grounded enough to carry Chinese tea culture without quotation marks around it.
