The Chinese name on the bag says it plainly: δΈε½η½ηΎθη β Chinese White, Jade Porcelain. Dehua has been making this material for over five hundred years, and it still doesn't have a real equivalent anywhere else.
What sets this glaze apart isn't brightness β it's depth. Held up to light, the porcelain has a faint translucency, the way good jade does. The surface feels warmer than it looks, and smoother than most glazes manage without going cold.
