White porcelain doesn't hide anything. The clay, the glaze, the forming — all of it shows. That's what makes Dehua porcelain worth using: it earns the color.
The white here isn't stark or clinical. It's the warm, slightly translucent ivory that Dehua has been producing for centuries — sometimes called "blanc de chine" in the West, though that name doesn't quite capture what it looks like when tea is sitting in it. Pour a good oolong or a golden Taiwanese high mountain, and the cup holds the color in a way that makes you want to slow down before drinking.
